Care4Basket
Amazing things made out of plastic waste.
We’re very excited to be supporting an amazing NGO called Care4Basket. Care4Basket is a charity where craftspeople in Ghana are making intricate handmade baskets from plastic bags. The charity’s mission is to educate, empower and provide opportunities for local craftspeople in Ghana, as well as transforming plastic bags and reducing plastic waste.
It gives craftspeople in Ghana the chance to overcome poverty through meaningful work as well as being a part of improving the environment.
We’ll be showcasing some of the beautiful baskets in our new Art Gallery and Studio, based in Brighton, all available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds going back to the makers in Ghana. We love to support such great causes in any way we can.
Jib Hangan is the founder of the NGO and is doing amazing work with recycling and empowering women.
At Zieler, we find it amazing that art can connect people from completely different walks of life and different cultures to make the world a better place through recycling plastic waste and helping people overcome poverty. With such beautiful designs these baskets are truly a work of art.
These baskets form part of our exhibition in our Art Gallery and Studio, 11 Bond Street in Brighton. So if you are in the area, come take a browse anytime and see the huge array of different art and handmade goods on display and for sale.
